THE BLACK SAND BEACH
Southern Iceland
Morning breeze after a long cold night of northern light hunt we arrived at Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach near Vik, Southern Iceland. The beach covered with black sand and surrounded by big basalt mountain. Glad that we decided to went there early in the morning, because as a local man we met said that this place were really popular. So we came as early as possible for better view.
Morning breeze
The beach was quiet calm in the morning unlike the afternoon. We could enjoy sit on the shore with our (not so) hot chocolate that we bought in the cafe near the beach. It was my first time wore a full windbreaker and scarf on the beach. LOL. but this place was so beautiful. So cold like Iceland but I can feel the warm of it. The local man also told us that this place was famous of puffin-watching. As this bird was spotted in the Clift near the beach. Many people came to see them.
Basalt mountain
The Giant basalt Clift by the beach was one of the reason to visit this place. The majestic rocks on the seaside is something different that other beach I've ever been to. And beside this beach in Northern Europe which is cold even on summer.
